Julie Giles is an experienced digital marketing strategist and consultant.
Online since the early days of dial-up, Julie has acquired a unique set of creative, technical and marketing skills — the outcome of a lifetime of learning. From her first job compiling customer databases and running A/B tests to today, Julie has developed an excellent understanding of how the bits and pieces of the Internet fit together, and how they can be leveraged to build a stronger and more effective digital presence for innovative companies and brands.
Julie is the author of the e-book, “How to Build an Audience for your Web Series: Market, Motivate & Mobilize” commissioned by the Independent Production Fund. She has taught at Centennial College and Ryerson University (where she developed the social media syllabus used by the RTA: School of Media) and has shared her digital expertise at conferences and workshops across Canada.
Julie began her career as an arts & entertainment publicist, working with some of the biggest names in live entertainment. Because she doesn’t have enough to do, she also makes documentary films with her brother and creative partner Jim Giles.
Julie is mother to a street artist named Waxhead and human companion to a chihuahua named Sid Vicious.
