Who we are…
GreenHAT Digital was established in April 2006 by Julie Giles, a social media consultant, publicist, and part-time filmmaker.
Based in Toronto, but working everywhere, GreenHAT Digital helps companies promote their ideas, build their audiences, and energize their communications.
About our Name …
The GreenHAT name originated with a concept developed by author and academic Dr. Edward de Bono, and outlined in his 1985 pre-Internet book Six Thinking Hats.
According to de Bono’s thesis, the green hat was one of six thinking hats that could help us simplify and focus our thoughts. The hats included white (for facts and figures), red (for emotions and feelings), black (for logical negative), yellow (for positive constructive), blue (for thinking steps) and green for creativity and new ideas.
The purpose of the six thinking hats was to switch the thinking process away from the normal argument style to a mapmaking style. This approach, said de Bono, made thinking a two-stage process — the first stage being to make the map and the second to chose a route on the map. If the map was good enough (it followed), the best route would become obvious.
Today, many companies are faced with a dilemma. Stay on the traditional path and risk being left behind. Or create a new route through unknown territory.
We are here to help you draw a new map. Ask us how…
