I’ve always been an advocate of using Facebook Ads Manager to test audience targeting and estimate audience size. Now, audience research is about to get better with Facebook Audience Insights, a new tool designed to help marketers learn more about their target audiences.
Using Audience Insights, marketers can extract and aggregate information such as:
This promises better audience targeting as well as important information on the percentage of audiences using Facebook on mobile (a large and growing segment).
Marketers can view this information for three different groups of people:
Audience Insights is different from current Page Insights as it looks at trends across the social network. Page Insights looks at interactions on a given Page (for example, likes, comments, shares, and so on).
Facebook Audience Insights is available within Ads Manager for all US marketers now, and will roll out globally “in the coming months.”
