Explaining to an Alien, an original eight-episode comedy web series created by Just For Laughs and Moving Mind Studio, premieres today on the Just For Laughs YouTube Channel.
This is the inaugural English-language project for Just For Laughs Shorts, a new digital initiative of Just For Laughs.
Starting today, the first two episodes of Explaining to an Alien, “Milk” and “Sex”, are available for streaming. The following six episodes are scheduled to roll-out weekly with all eight episodes available for viewing in late April.
Explaining to an Alien explores the relationship between a naive alien (‘Blorg’ played by Samuel Brisson) and two bumbling secret agents (Ryan George and Brandon Calder). When ‘Blorg’ starts asking questions, their encounters quickly turn into an unpredictable — and hilarious — examination of such human customs as dating, drinking, celebrities, smoking and sex.
Explaining to an Alien was written and produced by Moving Mind Studio and executive produced by Just For Laughs.
Montreal-based Moving Mind Studio was one of 10 pitch finalists optioned by Kevin Hart for his Laugh Out Loud Network at last year’s Just For Laughs ComedyPRO. The trio will see their sitcom, Campus Law, debut on the Laugh Out Loud Network later this summer.
Explaining to an Alien had its festival premiere last night at Vancouver Web Fest, the ‘Sundance of web series festivals’.
